ハーバードで研修中の中島隆博さんから，下記のようなシンポジウムの案内が届きました。イエンチンの同僚から，参加希望の日本人研究者を紹介してほしいと頼まれたとのことです。興味のある方は村田までお知らせ下さい。

The Center for China Studies Abroad and The Department of History at East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai is organizing an international conference on Chinese Historiography titled "Chinese Historiography in World Views." The conference will be held at ECNU from October 29-31, 2005. The conference is designed to serve as a forum for scholars and experts to freely exchange their research and thoughts and, hence, to further develop an important field of research.
Main themes:
1) Studies about The History of Chinese Historiography;
2) The Theory and methodology of Chinese Tranditional Historiography;
3) The Modern Transitions of Chinese Historiography;
4) The Construction of Contemporary Chinese Historiography.

Scholars pay their own flights, however their spend in Shanghai will be covered. Chinese and English will be used in the conference.
