Dear HYI alumni,
I am writing to ask for your assistance in promoting a fellowship opportunity for students in Asia to pursue a master's degree at Harvard University. HYI offers a full fellowship for Harvard's Regional Studies - East Asia (RSEA) master's program. This fellowship is for Asian nationals who are committed to pursuing a Ph.D. as preparation for an academic career. The RSEA master's program at Harvard offers additional course preparation and mentorship for promising students in order to make them more competitive for admission to leading Ph.D. programs.
We hope to advertise this fellowship widely, and would greatly appreciate if you could share information about the opportunity with students at your university who may be interested in the program.
Unlike the other HYI fellowship programs, there is no nomination process or application for this fellowship. Instead, students should apply to Harvard's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences for admission to the RSEA program and will be considered for the fellowship if they meet the eligibility requirements. (Note, the application for Fall 2015 admission will be available on Harvard's website on August 15, 2014.)
Students interested in learning about the admissions criteria of Harvard's Graduate School of Arts & Sciences should visit
http://gsas.harvard.edu/. More information can also be found on our website (
http://www.harvard-yenching.org/east-asia).
I also have a flyer for the program, but cannot send attachments through this mailing list. If you'd like to distribute the flyer, please email me and I will send it to you as a PDF.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance!
Best,
Lindsay
