Starting in the academic year beginning October 2012, the University of Tokyo will offer two new undergraduate degrees with English as the medium of instruction as part of the PEAK program. Students will be able to select from the International Program on Japan in East Asia or the International Program on Environmental Sciences. These courses are initially directed towards international students and are offered as part of the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Global 30 Program.
